Before you enquire

GOST 305-82 was a Soviet domestic standard, abolished on 1 January 2015 and replaced by GOST 305-2013. "D2" is not part of it either — the GOST grades are seasonal rather than numbered, and the number is a corruption of American No. 2 diesel usage. So the phrase attaches a designation that does not exist to a standard that no longer does. The term survives almost entirely inside allocation-letter offers, paired with a soft probe, a proof of product nobody can verify and a chain of intermediaries. If you have been offered it, ask which refinery, which terminal, which tank and which vessel; the answer ends the conversation. International cargoes contract on EN 590 at a stated sulphur, or on a destination national specification, and we quote either against supply we can inspect at load.
